Business Competence in Social Management“ is a project in the
Leonardo Partnership Programme, which consists of several partners throughout Europe and is led by the VHS Hannover.
The project idea was developed based on the following observation:
Most European contries have experienced a boom in the so called “Social Economies” in recent years. Organisations which work in the area of social work and social services have become an
important economical factor, which is going to become even more important in the future.
Every day life in social organisation also shows, though, that
executives have to face the challenge of leading their social organisation like any other commercial enterprise, following basic business rules. Very often these executives have not had formation
which includes business management. Therefore they very often lack the knowledge which is needed in order to face economic challenges successfully.
To close this educational gap is the mission of this project. The
project partners are determined to develop an educational concept which will promote business management knowledge in social organisations and companies. The concept will include e-learning (in
order to allow flexibility in terms of time and location). Moreover, the aim is to develop project outcomes which can be used throughout Europe.
